A Kinloch Rannoch loop taking in Pitlochry, Kinloch Rannoch and back via Schiehallion Mountain and small villages.
Pitlochry is the first town to pass through, potential stops at Heather Gems and the Hydro Dam. From here route heads down the side of Loch Tummel and the spectacular Queen’s View, you can see the triangular peak of Schiehallion in the distance. Then passing by Tummel Bridge and onto Kinnloch Rannoch.
Kinloch Rannoch offers views down the loch, tranquility in the countryside, small independent shops, cafes & galleries (The Shed Gallery is a favourite). The route leaves Kinloch Rannoch heading over the shoulder of Schiehallion, keep an eye out for the deer.
The road heads over beautiful mountain scenery towards Coshieville where a small detour takes in the Fortingall Yew. Back to the previous road and turning right the next places of interest are Highland Safaris and Castle Menzies.
The route then goes through Weem and onto the Strathtay road taking you past Cluny Gardens, home to the red squirrels.
At Strathtay a right turn takes you into Grandtully and the Highland Chocolatiers before heading on back to Cuil an Daraich Guest House on the back road through Balnaguard and over the Logierait Bridge, enjoy views looking across the valley.
